Emergency Procedures

If your child is injured while in the program, the staff will first determine if the injury is life threatening.  If it is not life threatening, they will contact the parents/guardians to determine an appropriate course of action.  If they feel it could be life threatening, they will call 911, and then attempt to contact the parents.

In the case of a natural disaster, such as an earthquake, the program will utilize the District’s Disaster Plan.  This plan draws on the resources of the entire district to react to a disaster in a manner appropriate to the circumstances. Depending on the severity of the situation, parent/guardian reunification may occur in a spot other than the Preschool room.  Signs will be placed directing you to the reunification area.  Be prepared to show staff your identification, as the teachers working reunification may not be your child’s teacher.  Rest assured, the preschool staff will remain with their students at all times to reassure and comfort them.
